"ENTIRE" TOWN TRASH DROP-OFF - 2024 SPRING & FALL SCHEDULE
Thursday, May 16th, 2024 from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM Thursday, October 17th, 2024 from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Friday, May 17th, 2024 from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM Friday, October 18th, 2024 from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Saturday, May 18th, 2024 from 7:00 AM to Noon Saturday, October 19th, 2024 from 7:00 AM to Noon
Rules for Trash drop-off: (Be prepared to unload your own trash)
- Trash needs to be dropped off at the Town of Herkimer Highway Garage located
across from the NYS Police Barracks. The address is 123 Gros Boulevard, East Herkimer.
- Open to "ALL" Town of Herkimer residents.
- Car tire (each): cost with rim or without rim is subject to market rate.
- Dump truck tire (each) cost subject to market rate, accepted without rim only.
- Tractor tire (each) cost subject to market rate, accepted without rim only.
- All steel items such as bed springs are accepted, as well as sofas, chairs and all
House Hold items.
- Batteries ARE accepted. (ABSOLUTELY NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS)
- NO paints, construction debris/material.
- NO private contractors or commercial drops.
- NO recyclables accepted.
- Limit- 2 loads only.
- Propane tanks WILL NOT be accepted.
- PLEASE NOTE: CPU monitors, laptops, fax machines, etc. need to be separated. There will be a container available especially for those types of items.
- PLEASE NOTE: Large plastic items MUST be separated.
- Shred truck will be available for Personal Documents Only on Saturday, May 18th and October 19th of 2024 from 9 to Noon.

YARD WASTE RULES
THERE ARE A FEW CHANGES TO GREEN WASTE PICK UP THIS YEAR, PLEASE SEE THE SPECIFICS BELOW. THANK YOU
GREEN/YARD WASTE COLLECTION [GREEN/YARD WASTE MUST BE CONTAINERIZED OR TIED/BUNDLED] ➢ Set out Sunday night for Monday pick-up beginning April 15th (weather permitting) and continuing through the 1st Monday in November. Pick up will START at 6:00AM. Pick-up will be the 1st and 3rd Monday's in June, July & August.
➢ Green waste (grass clippings, leaves, garden waste and shrub clippings) must be placed in a reusable container only.
***Limit of 3 containers per property.*** NO LAWN CARTS! ALL containers must have handles (NO cut out handles).
No container is to exceed 50 pounds.
➢ DO NOT place green waste in TARPS, plastic bags, galvanized barrels, laundry baskets, cardboard boxes, brown paper bags or compost paper bags.
➢ Green waste should be free of stones, wood, paper, plastic pots/trays, and animal waste.
➢ Lumber and other construction debris IS NOT considered brush or yard waste.
➢ Brush and shrubs cannot exceed four feet (4') and must be placed in a reusable container or tied and bundled.
➢ Christmas trees can be brought to the Town Garage for disposal through the month of January.
