Herkimer Town Park
Walking Trail: The paved, eight-foot wide one half mile walking trail along the perimeter of the nine-acre park features three lighted rest areas and dog stations.
Fitness and Studio Courts: The Town has partnered with the National Fitness Campaign installing both a Fitness and Studio Court.
The Fitness Court is a world-class outdoor circuit training center integrated into a sleek 38'x38' square that can accommodate up to 28 people at once. With 118 elements, thousands of exercises, and a digitally-supported community engagement platform, the Fitness Court brings innovation to every exercise and state of the art weather resistant fitness apparatus and equipment to all while accessing personalized fitness programs on mobile applications through cell phones by scanning a QR code that is available on the fitness court's digital wall or via instruction by a certified fitness coach. And it's all free.
Adjacent to the Fitness Court is the Studio Court. It is available for all groups to use for outdoor space group exercises and activities. Scheduling reserved times for use with the Town Park's Supervisor is highly recommended.
Basketball Court: The lighted basketball court is newly constructed and features two regulation size baskets.
Tennis/Pickleball Courts: Each of the two lighted courts feature the markings outlining the dimensions for both tennis and pickleball use.
Ball Fields: The 2 ball fields at Herkimer Town Park are used from spring through fall by several Herkimer athletic teams for sports such as softball and soccer.
Pavilion and bathroom Facilities: There is a small pavilion with four picnic tables and there are bathroom facilities available.
Reservations; For requests to reserve use of the Town Park facilities, please contact our Town Park Supervisor and/or call the Town Clerk at (315)866-2690. Written requests in care of the Herkimer Town Board 114 North Prospect Street Herkimer, NY 13350 in an option as well.

The 2 ball fields at Herkimer Town Park are used from spring through fall by several Herkimer athletic teams for sports such as softball and soccer. There are tennis and basketball courts available, as well.
During the summer, there is a supervised daily program available for children that offers many activities such as board games, Wii video game contests, arts & crafts, a zoo mobile, the bounce castle, a tie-dye day and a make your own sundae day. A free summer lunch program is also offered daily.
There are several pieces of playground equipment for the kids to enjoy. In 2008, the Town received a grant from Herkimer County Healthnet, Inc. to buy additional playground apparatus for the purpose of promoting the health and safety of the children playing in the park. The Town of Herkimer has also received a grant to upgrade both ball fields and improve parking options at the park.
