The 2 ball fields at Herkimer Town Park are used
from spring through fall by
several Herkimer athletic teams for sports
such as softball and soccer.  There are
tennis and basketball courts available, as well.

During the summer, there is a supervised daily
program available for children that offers  
many activities such as board games,
Wii video game contests, arts & crafts,
a zoo mobile,  the bounce castle,
a tie-dye day and a make your own sundae day.
A free summer lunch program is also offered daily.

There are several pieces of playground
equipment for the kids to enjoy.
In 2008, the Town received a grant from
Herkimer County Healthnet, Inc. to buy
additional playground apparatus for the
purpose of promoting the health and safety of
the children in our Town.
The Town of Herkimer has also received a
grant to upgrade both ball fields and
improve parking options at the park.

There is a small pavilion with four
picnic tables and there are
bathroom facilities available.
